He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
We all have mountains, right? Some are big and some small. Some we have for a season, and some may feel like they're here to stay for a while. Matthew 17:20 tells us: " He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
But what if that mountain does not move? We pray morning and night, and all throughout the day. We have the faith of an entire container of mustard seeds, but in spite of all of our efforts, THIS. MOUNTAIN. IS. STILL. HERE!!! Sounds frustrating right? But it doesn't have to be! (INSERT YOUR TRUST IN GOD HERE! )
"God may be giving you that mountain so that you can show others that it can be moved!"
In some cases, in stead of telling it to move, we have to climb to the top and set up camp. We may have to hang out for a while! (but do not get comfortable, God is always on time!) These are the times that we should embrace our mountains! During these times, we should remind ourselves that knowing our GOD and who He is, (not what he's done) and knowing that He knows what's best for us, we can rest assure that if that mountain is unmoved, then God has a purpose for it. As a matter of fact, there may be something on that mountain that we may need to be equipped with, to perform that new job, or to maintain that new promotion, to qualify us for that home that we've been praying for or any other blessings that he has for us that seems so far away. Little do we know that they are usually resting on the other side, WAITING FOR US TO PREPARE OURSELVES FOR THEM!
Then again, that mountain may not be for us at all. I know, it sounds crazy huh?! But really it's not. God may be giving us those mountains so that we can show others that they can be moved!
So when the mountains come, do not be discouraged. Talk to your mountains. Tell them about your God, and watch those mountains become the stepping stones that you need to get you to what God has promised you! ✝️♥️
- Blessings and overflow all week, Ashley!
